How it started
Neil Chapman founded Boatshed in 1999 after realising that he could not return to his old job after a 10 month sabbatical, sailing aboard his 41 foot sailing boat.
Boatshed brokerage businesses
Neil set up Boatshed as a franchise business to enable the group to grow and service customers all over the world. It has since grown into a major international and well-known business, and is today represented in over 70 locations in 18 countries by more than 150 local brokers and franchisees.
The technology
Boatshed was the first company to develop yacht brokerage on the web back in 1999, and now the websites rank amongst the most visited yachting sites in the world.
Boatshed HQ
The Engine House in Gosport has been the headquarters for Boatshed since 2007.
